Are You Who You Say You Are?

Unlike the internet and the blogosphere, your local Department of Motor Vehicles expects you from now on to be able to prove you are who you say you are. A few years ago, liberal states like California and New York were handing out drivers licenses to anyone who walked into their offices, even illegal aliens. This has now come to a screeching halt with the REAL ID Act, even if you live in a small town in Kansas where everybody knows everybody ....

ELLSWORTH, Kan. (AP)—Federal law will make county treasurer Paula Schneider do something that would be plain rude on the streets of this little town: treat friends as strangers. Never mind that she knows practically everyone who walks into her office and wants a driver’s license. Under the REAL ID Act meant to deter terrorists, Schneider will have to make neighbors prove who they are. Homeland security is taking a toll on the homespun way of doing things at government offices like hers.

The law will require people to come up with more papers attesting to their identity and citizenship status before they get a driver’s license. States say this will drive up costs and lengthen lines at motor vehicle offices. Schneider anticipates headaches and hard feelings. “We’ll have unhappy people,” she said. “They’ll say, ‘You know me.’”

People in bigger places are accustomed to impersonal take-a-number processing and Soviet bread-line waits at their driver’s license office. Not so in Ellsworth, a central Kansas town of 2,100 residents and some 800 inmates at the big state prison on the outskirts. Government business is done with a breezy informality.

“Right now if somebody comes in who lost their license, we’ll write down their name and their birthday and go back there and see what we can find on the computer,” said Schneider, gesturing behind the counter of her office in the old stone courthouse. A high-school yearbook may suffice to establish someone’s identity. But because neighbors are serving neighbors, even that much is usually unnecessary now. Under the changes, though, people will have to prove themselves several times over.

All I can say is, it’s about time. I have my birth certificate in my desk drawer and I carry my passport with me at all times, just in case. I know who I am and can prove it, which I usually have to do several times a week. But will this stop terrorists or illegal aliens? Of course not. The jerk from Guatemala who crashed into me last December and totalled my vehicle was drunk, had no license, no insurance, no verifiable address and apparently no place of employment. He was in the country illegally, working for strictly cash and had used same to buy a piece of crap car to go out and get drunk in. He has since disappeared and the police and my insurance company can’t find him. The place to stop these asshats is at the border, not at the DMV. That’s kinda like shutting the barn door after all the horses have escaped or in my case .... the jackass from Guatemala.

Tourists Warned About Mexico

The US government is warning Americans to stay out of Mexico as violence along the border continues to rise. My only question is, who the hell wants to go to Mexico anyway? Even the MESS-CANS are running away ....

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The United States renewed a travel warning on Tuesday for U.S. citizens crossing the border into Mexico, noting more than 100 murders had occurred in the border region since June. The U.S. ambassador in Mexico, Tony Garza, said that with violence showing no sign of abating, the travel warning issued twice by Washington since the start of the year had been extended and would be reviewed as necessary.

“The Mexican government is beginning to address concerns about the unacceptable level of violence along our border. Nevertheless, more than 100 violent deaths have occurred along the border since June,” Garza said. “Eighteen Nuevo Laredo policemen were killed this year, including eight in July. These disturbing reports make clear that Mexico needs to do much more to bring safety and security to our common border.”

Mexico, which has reacted angrily to previous travel alerts and accused Washington of interfering in its business, retorted with a short statement saying it was continuing its efforts to fight organized crime. “As it has reiterated on various occasions, the government maintains a constant fight against organized crime and is undertaking a series of actions to quell violence on the border,” the foreign ministry said in a short statement.

Violence in northern Mexico has soared this year, leaving at least 600 dead, after President Vicente Fox launched a “mother of all battles” on drug gangs fighting turf battles there. Fox sent hundreds of anti-drug troops to the area in June after a spate of police shootings in border cities, where cartels from the western state of Sinaloa are battling local Gulf cartel rivals for control of the cross-border cocaine, marijuana and amphetamine trade. One of the worst trouble spots is Nuevo Laredo, south of Laredo, Texas, where dozens of people have been murdered this year and some 30 U.S. citizens have been kidnapped since last August.

Eye Of The Storm

Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) has generated a storm of controversy with his comments that we should nuke Mecca if the Islamofascists detonate a nuclear device here in the US. Now Muslims in Colorado are up in arms over his remarks. Joining the MOOS-LIMS in making asses out of themselves are Hispanics. Who gave these dumbasses permission to jump in bed with the Islamofascists? Especially when most of them are in the country illegally anyway. It’s time for a little STFU ....

DENVER—Hispanic and Muslim groups called on Rep. Tom Tancredo to resign Monday, saying he has embarrassed Colorado by suggesting that Americans bomb Islamic holy sites if terrorists launch a nuclear attack on the United States. They also criticized the GOP congressman’s staunch advocacy of tougher immigration controls.

“Enough is enough. We’re here to say ‘Stop,’” Hispanic activist Manolo Gonzalez-Estay told a crowd of about 200 people at the state Capitol. Abdur-Rahim Ali, imam of the Northeast Denver Islamic Center, said Tancredo’s statement that “you could take out” Islamic holy sites in a retaliatory attack was unacceptable.

“What would happen if a prominent Muslim made that statement about Catholic holy places like the Vatican?” asked Ali.

Tancredo’s spokesman, Will Adams, said the four-term congressman would not comment on the rally, but has no intention of apologizing or resigning. “They are a lot more upset about what he stands for, our nation’s security and border policy, than anything else,” Adams said. Leslie Hanks went to the rally with a sign supporting Tancredo for president. “I’m very proud of him,” Hanks said.

Do you still think we need a “guest worker amnesty program”? I sure as hell don’t! If Manolo and his gang of Mess-Cans want to join up with the MOOS-LIMS and gang up on us, there’s a major ass-whuppin’ coming soon. They better all high-tail it back across the Rio Grande before the shootin’ starts. Open season starts in 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 ....

Migrant Airlines

Well, well, well. The Euro-peons have decided to cooperate on something at last. Even the French are joining in. Sacre bleu! What are they doing? They’re creating a special charter arline to ship out all the illegal immigrants ....

(GUARDIAN-UK) Britain is to take part in a plan to organise joint charter flights to deport illegal immigrants across Europe, the home secretary, Charles Clarke, confirmed yesterday. Interior ministers from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, agreed to organise charter flights that will pick up illegal migrants in each country before flying them home.

The scheme will effectively set up a discrete charter airline, already dubbed “migrant-air”, that will cut the cost of deportations and reduce the need to send those being deported back home on commercial airlines. The scale of removals of illegal migrants in Britain needs to be stepped up sharply if the Home Office is to meet Tony Blair’s target that the number of monthly total deportations exceeds the number of unfounded new asylum applications by the end of this year. In the first three months of 2005 3,000 were removed but 5,200 new unfounded asylum claims were lodged.

“Our idea is simple - we think that foreigners with no right or entitlement to be in our countries should not stay. They are in breach of our laws,” said the French interior minister, Nicolas Sarkozy.

Maybe we should try that here in the US? Naw, wouldn’t work. I estimate it would take about 5,000 USAF C-5 Galaxy transports to get the whole 11 million illegal Mess-cans outta here .... and with the borders the way they are, they’d just wander back in after a few hours.

Hypocrats In Congress

Did you know that most of Congress would rather have a database to check and monitor gun owners than would have a database to check and monitor illegal aliens ....? It’s true, as CNS News reports ....

(CNSNews.com)—Dozens of U.S. House members who sponsored the nationwide instant background check system for gun buyers in 1993 or backed the expansion of that system in 2002, have shown no support for a similar database intended to identify illegal aliens trying to find work in the U.S.

At least one member who supported the gun control measure is challenging the proposal to crack down on illegal immigrants.

“A database this large is likely to contain many errors,” said Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) during a May 12 hearing on the Illegal Immigration Enforcement and Social Security Protection Act (H.R. 98). “Any one of [the errors] could render someone unemployable and possibly much worse until they can get their file straightened out.”

But in 2002, Jackson Lee argued for the “Our Lady of Peace Act,” (H.R. 4757), an expansion of the National Instant Check System (NICS) for handgun purchases.

“I strongly support this legislation,” Jackson Lee said during the Oct. 15, 2002 consideration of the Our Lady of Peace Act. “A major problem with the instant check system has been the incomplete records of state and local governments.”

The legislation to expand NICS would have provided “incentives for states to provide more complete records to the federal government. This will result in faster and smarter background checks,” she argued.

Jackson Lee was not in Congress in 1993 when the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act - the law that eventually gave way to the NICS tracking system - was passed. But 83 of the 155 House members who did co-sponsor the Brady bill 12 years ago are still serving in the House, and only one - House Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) - is a co-sponsor of the Illegal Immigration Enforcement and Social Security Protection Act.

Erich Pratt, communications director for Gun Owners of America (GOA), said opposition to the attempts to identify illegal immigrants, amounts to “hypocrisy,” considering those same members’ support for the gun control measure.

“Evidently for this gaggle of congressional gun-haters, the Constitution only applies to illegal aliens, not American citizens,” Pratt said. “It seems that some people are ‘more equal’ than others.”

Yeah, and those who are “more equal” are illegal aliens and terrorists at Gitmo, while the rest of us (American taxpayers, that is) are getting screwed.

Howling Laughter News Break

Mexican Leader Criticized For Comment On Blacks

CNN: Sunday, May 15, 2005 Posted: 9:08 AM EDT (1308 GMT)

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Saturday criticized Mexican President Vicente Fox’s comment that Mexican immigrants to the United States take jobs “that not even blacks want to do.”

Jackson called the remark “a spurious comparison” with “ominous racial overtones.”

The Mexican president’s office issued a statement late Saturday disputing the negative interpretation of his comments, saying Fox has “enormous respect to minorities whatever their racial, ethnic, or religious origin may be.”

A Mexican official defended Fox later in the day, saying his description was not meant as an insult.

“The president didn’t make a declaration in the racist sense; of course there are those who interpret it in that way,” Foreign Relations Secretary Luis Derbez told a reporter in the Mexican state of Jalisco.

According to Derbez, Fox was making the point that “Mexican migrants are making great contributions in the United States and that their role is a positive role.”

“They’ve been able to improve the conditions of life not just for themselves but also for the communities in which they settle and, by the same token, the president made the comment in this context to say that a large quantity of the jobs taken by Mexicans are jobs that in the U.S. society aren’t being filled.”

I can add absolutely nothing to this comedy. In fact, I simply cannot because I’m laughing so hard at Fox for making an ass out of himself by getting angry at the US for protecting its borders and Jackson for his usual race-baiting tactics. I say we let the two of them fight it out .... in a bull-ring .... with a real big nasty bull to add to the entertainment. What say you?

McCain-Kennedy Just Stabbed Us In The Back

While no one was looking yesterday, Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Teddy Kennedy (D-MA) submitted a bill in the Senate to grant amnesty to illegal aliens and allow more to come into the country as “guest workers” ....

Washington Post - Friday, May 13, 2005

A bipartisan bill introduced in Congress yesterday seeks to revise the current immigration system by allowing millions of illegal immigrants in the United States to apply to be temporary guest workers and permit residents of other countries to seek the same status if they can prove that a job is waiting for them.

The new visa program proposed by Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) would allow immigrant workers to leave and enter the United States as they please over the three-year life of the temporary visa.

McCain said current immigration policy is “unacceptable,” in part because it forces Mexican nationals and others illegally seeking to enter the United States to rely on human smugglers or risk their lives crossing the desert alone. In addition, he said, porous borders are “leaving Americans vulnerable” to terrorism.

Under the bill, millions of illegal workers and immigrants who want jobs in the United States could eventually gain citizenship. Illegal workers in the United States would pay $1,000 each to apply for H-5B visas that would require them to work for six years before seeking permanent residency. Foreign nationals would pay $500 each and would have to prove that an employer has a job waiting for them. Both would be required to pass a battery of police background and medical checks.

After working for three years, foreign national visa-holders could ask for three-year extensions and, in the meantime, apply for green cards. If the illegal immigrants continue working, pay an additional $1,000, study English and break no laws for six years, they could qualify for permanent residency. Ultimately, that could lead to full citizenship. In the meantime, visa-holders could leave and enter the United States legally.

McCain said he asked the Bush administration to embrace the proposal. The senator said he did not get a firm answer, but was told that the bill is “in accord with the president’s principles.”

When a large number of people commit a crime, you have two choices: (a) punish them all or (b) make what they’re doing no longer illegal. Guess which one your government is choosing to address the problem of illegal immigrants. I only wonder if this will apply to all invaders. If so, will we become just like France, laying down and rolling over everytime some outside group comes waltzing in? I am sick and disgusted with my government over this blatant disregard for my safety and security, not to mention a complete lack of commitment to preserving the sovereignty of the United States of America.

Forgive me but didn’t every single one of these politicians swear an oath to “preserve, protect and defend the people and the Constitution of the United States”?

This used to be a great country .... until the politicians decided that once elected they need no longer care what the American people think or want. To seal the deal, they try to take our guns away from us leaving them with a fully equipped army to put down any revolt by the people who become sick and tired of their arrogance. My fellow Americans, the end of the greatest nation the planet has ever seen is coming sooner than you think. Our elected officials are throwing it all away, just so they can stay in power. Greedy politicians will be our doom, America. It is happening even as I speak ....

Outrage Along The Border

Our government has lost its collective mind. Now they’re telling border patrol agents to ignore all illegal aliens. Guess why?

The behavior of the federal government has gone from neglect to a case of outright conspiracy ....

U.S. Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, The Washington Times has learned.

More than a dozen agents, all of whom asked not to be identified for fear of retribution, said orders relayed by Border Patrol supervisors at the Naco, Ariz., station made it clear that arrests were “not to go up” along the 23-mile section of border that the volunteers monitored to protest illegal immigration.

“It was clear to everyone here what was being said and why,” said one veteran agent. “The apprehensions were not to increase after the Minuteman volunteers left. It was as simple as that.”

Another agent said the Naco supervisors “were clear in their intention” to keep new arrests to an “absolute minimum” to offset the effect of the Minuteman vigil, adding that patrols along the border have been severely limited.

The time has come, my friends, to start looking over your shoulder. Our government has obviously entered into a conspiracy with Mexico to bring all of their overflow population to this country (illegally, I might add). This will not do. Clean your firearms and stock up on ammo. It’s going to get ugly real soon. Oh .... and Remember The Alamo!

The Last Straw

You have to go read this article from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, based on an article in the New York Times. The headline reads: “U.S. pays for care of illegal aliens: Treatment money for border states”.

WASHINGTON—The Bush administration said yesterday that it would start paying hospitals and doctors for providing emergency care to illegal immigrants.

The money, totaling $1 billion, will be available for services provided from today through September 2008. Congress provided the money as part of the 2003 law that expanded Medicare to cover prescription drugs, but the new payments have nothing to do with the Medicare program.

Members of Congress from border states had sought the money. They said treatment of illegal immigrants imposed a huge financial burden on many hospitals, which are required to provide emergency care to patients who need it, regardless of their immigration status or ability to pay.

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

This is adding insult to injury, folks. I’ve had it up to here with this illegal alien crap. They cross our borders illegally, place a drain on our society, commit crimes while they’re here and now .... the government is going to give them free medical care. That’s blatant bullshit and I’m sick and tired of this continued pandering to criminals invading our country.

We might as well just throw open the borders and let any asswipe who wants to come in do so. Hell, we’ll give them jobs or welfare payments, depending on whether they feel like working or not. We’ll give them driver’s licenses. We’ll even let them vote. And finally, to sweeten the deal, we’ll even give them free medical care, something that millions of American citizens don’t have. Jumping Judas Priest! Where have our politicians in Washington got their heads nowadays? Obviously, their heads are stuck about a mile up their asses.

This crosses a line in the sand, people. Free medical care for criminal invaders? Damn! I thought only the French were stupid enough to do things like that. This is plainly giving away the farm. Your representatives in Washington don’t give a rat’s ass about American citizens. All they care about are outside invaders and coddling them.

Are you going to sit back and let this madness continue? Our country is under invasion, people! Rise up and demand accountability from your government. Write, e-mail or call your Congress-critter NOW! Explain to him/her that you have had enough. Demand action! Stop being wusses about this. It won’t go away, any more than these invaders who are getting a free ticket from our government.

DO SOMETHING! NOW!

Let’s Party!

Today is Cinco De Mayo, in which we celebrate the famous Mexican, Senor Miguel Kraft, who invented Mayonnaise, or “Mayo” as we know it today ....

image

Yes, without the contribution of Senor Kraft, our sandwiches would be awful dry and our hot dogs pretty darned bland. We pause today to thank this hero of cuisine and ......

(nudge, nudge - pssst, skipper!)

What? Can’t you see I’m espostulating to the populace here, boy? What’s wrong?

(uh .. erh .. skipper, there is no senor mayo. today is a day to celebrate mexico’s independence.)

Eegads, boy! Is that true? Are you sure? This isn’t some devious plot by the Democratic Party is it?

(nope, skipper. trust me on this. somebody misinformed you about today’s party. it must have been a liberal spy.)

Well, blow me down, boy! That will not do.

Ahem! Ladies & Gentlemen! Please disregard the previous statement above. Today is a Mess-Can holiday. Let’s celebrate by sending all of them back across the border. REMEMBER THE ALAMO!

Los Angeles, Mexico

This got some press yesterday.  Apparently, a spanish-speaking TV station in Los Angeles wanted to make sure everyone knew who really owned the town.

image
[translation] Your City, Your Team

New billboards advertising a Spanish-language newscast on KRCA-TV Channel 62 were intended as an attention-grabber for its core audience, but instead have struck a nerve with activists seeking to curb illegal immigration.

Here they come folks.  If you don’t pay attention to this problem now, it will be too late.
